Delivery Process

Confirm Delivery Details

  • Ensure all delivery details are confirmed in advance, including the exact delivery address, contact information, and any specific instructions for the driver.

  • Discuss any potential access issues with our team to prevent last-minute complications.

Measure and Clear the Site

  • Measure the access route and the delivery site to confirm the container can be delivered safely. The delivery truck will need adequate space to manoeuvre, and the site must be free of obstacles.

  • Remove any overhead obstructions, such as low-hanging branches or wires, that could impede the truck’s access.

Ground Preparation

  • Prepare the ground where the container will be placed. The site must be firm, level, and capable of supporting the weight of the container and the truck.

  • Lay down a compacted gravel base to improve ground stability. This is particularly important if the ground is soft or prone to becoming muddy.

Access Considerations

  • Ensure the access route to the site is suitable for a large vehicle. This includes ensuring roads are wide enough, corners are not too tight, and there are no weight restrictions.

  • If your site has gates, they should be wide enough to accommodate the truck. Generally, a width of at least 12 feet is recommended.

Communication with Driver

  • We work with local professional transport companies. The driver and customer are responsible for making all safety decisions on-site. It is crucial to ensure the delivery site is accessible and safe.

  • On the day of delivery, maintain communication with the driver. Ensure that someone can guide the driver to the site and assist with any immediate decisions.

  • Provide the driver with a clear description of the site layout and any specific placement requirements.

Post-Delivery Checks and Additional Tips

Post-Delivery Checks

  • Once the container is in place, conduct a thorough inspection to ensure it is positioned correctly and there are no immediate issues. Check the container doors and ensure they open and close properly.

  • Verify that the container is level. Adjust the supports (such as rail sleepers) if necessary to ensure the container remains stable and accessible.

Seasonal Considerations

  • Rainy Season: During the rainy season, ensure the delivery site is well-drained to prevent waterlogging. Use gravel or sand to improve drainage if necessary.

  • Winter: In winter, clear any snow and ice from the delivery path and site. Use salt or sand to improve traction and prevent slipping.

Safety Precautions

  • Ensure that children and pets are kept from the delivery area to avoid accidents.

  • Wear appropriate safety gear, such as gloves and safety boots, during the delivery and placement process.

Future Site Adjustments

  • If you plan to move the container in the future, consider the placement of permanent structures around it. Ensure there is enough space to manoeuvre a truck for future relocations.

  • Regularly inspect the ground around the container for signs of settling or erosion and make adjustments as necessary to maintain stability.
